Requesting C-Section

Has anyone managed to get an elective c-section close to their due date? Im suffering with severe anxiety/fear about giving birth and have been toying with the idea of having an elective c-section throughout my pregnancy. I would really like a c-section but technically have no medical reason to have one at this point. I’m due on the 27th dec so it’s probably too late to ask But wondered if anyone else had requested one this late in the game and what they said to get one?

I chose elective, no medical reason I had an emergency section with my first and seemed like the easier option for us with toddler and planning etc. My midwife had no issues with it.

I’d get the ball rolling asap if it’s what you want, you have to have a consultant apt and pre op apt etc and they’ll have to find a space for you in the bookings, so if you want to talk to someone about it I’d contact your midwife to get things moving xx Also you don’t need a medical reason don’t worry xx

You could call and speak to your midwife. I'm due 27th but need to have a section for medical reasons - they've scheduled me in for Christmas Eve as they're so busy with bookings. Xx

You absolutely can request a c-section for maternal choice alone, but you’ve left it quite late especially with it being Christmas. Theatre lists will probably have already been done and they usually do c-sections at 39 weeks and you’ll need to see a consultant so if it’s what you want I’d try and sort something asap.
