just 2 weeks

I've given in! Altho my pelvis is so painful! Xx

I drove after 2 weeks

TBH I didn’t realize this was really a thing and drove like a week later. It was fine

I could drive right now, but my insurer says I need to be "signed off" by my doctor, so gonna have to wait until my 6-8wk check if I want to be insured 🙄

Months I think, but my husband was off work March 2020 so he drove me everywhere 😜

They say 6/8 weeks, but mainly as you need to be able to perform an effective emergency stop- as if you can’t this voids your insurance.

@Farrah that's exactly what my doc said. basically he was like "don't drive until you can brake hard to stop for a ball rolling into the street" lol

2 weeks, drove myself to my 2 week follow up and was fine after that

I’m driving at 5 weeks but midwife said DVLA give the ok from 4 weeks as long as your insurance policy covers it. (Some insurers say 6 weeks) x

My first husband was in house arrest when I had my daughter and I was driving the day after I got out of the hospital. I had to do everything solo. I was begging the doctors to release me so I could go back to work by 4 weeks. I was the only one bringing in money. When he eventually went to prison I left him. That was in 2018. My current husband is a Godsend. Complete 180 of the first. He is my biggest blessing next to my daughter.

Like 4 days. I had an app because I had postpartum preeclampsia and needed to get my BP checked and stuff. My OB said as long as I could check my blind spot and slam on the brakes, I was good to drive.

2 weeks. As long as the pain is manageable and the you aren’t on meds that can impact your judgment/ability to drive safely, you can drive whenever you feel ready

2-3 days. However I will say I have a high pain tolerance. I have chronic pain arthritis n a ton of other stuff so to me it wasn’t that bad. I was walking the next day and doing stairs by the 3rd day. The nurses were all stunned by how I was up and about keeping up with them walking. 1 nurse was like I have to keep up with u. How r u walking this fast. I even told them to stop giving me pain meds after like 12 hrs cuz im used to pain n it wasn’t that bad compared to my usual pain.

2 weeks. I went to a quiet car park on a Sunday and checked I could do an emergency stop

You need to read the small print in your insurance. Some don’t say anything others set a time. It varies between Insurances. With my last company I didn’t have to wait and was told I needed to be able to do an emergency break I was driving at 4 weeks x

I had to drive to the hospital at 11 days, wasn’t the most comfortable but manageable x

After about 3 weeks or so I had to take my toddler to pre school x

6 weeks x

I had no choice but to drive 2 weeks after my c-section because I had to take my baby to her first Doctors appointment; because my BD was off to see his “lover”. 🤦🏾‍♀️

They say 6 weeks to be safe but I was driving after 10 days as I was having daily hospital appointments due to an infection and couldn’t afford taxis. But by this time I was pain free just had the normal numbness

I was ready to after a couple of weeks however my insurance was invalid until 6 weeks pp so I didn’t want to risk it as I thought knowing my luck something would happen 🤦🏽‍♀️

Thank you everyone for your comments. I’m 4.5 weeks pp. I feel okay. Haven’t checked my insurance though so I’ll have a look
