Thank you! I introduced the blanket like a month ago lol. I want to let her use for night time sleep because it’s been cold and her room is especially cold (even with the heater on) but I’m so afraid. I’ll work on that but thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it ❤️
We started using a blanket around 18m. It's a soft one that we used to throw over her in her infant carrier (so it's not THAT big); similar to the Bluey one a previous person posted in picture.
My daughter is still very much a stomach sleeper, curled up in a little ball lol. I'm worried about her getting uncovered overnight so I'm hesitant to switch to a blanket. She's still wearing a sleep sack. We recently turned it backwards because she kept unzipping herself.
My daughter currently has a new fav blanket. She has about 3-4 that she gets to choose from and sleep with each night. Also has a pillow. When I noticed she was able to move as needed to breathe, even when asleep, it let me know she was ready- sometime before 12 months I forget lol
13m ish we started. She also always pulls things off her face. I tried to make it a peek a boo game when she was young to try and get her to react to get things off her face like that.
My daughter has had a blanket since 9 months.
Around 10 months, he’s always hated sleep sacks..I started with knitted ones just in case but now that he’s old enough to move the blankets himself, roll and stand to get out of a tangle I don’t worry about it anymore :)
He’s been using one for a while, but he moves in his sleep a lot and becomes uncovered. They have sleep sacks with feet. I suggest getting one of those.
we practiced by throwing blankets over her head at like 8 months while she was laying down to make sure she could readjust and it also built our confidence.
Thank you all! You’ve all eased my fear and we are now 2 nights in with her blanket. She still uses her sleep sack since she lays on top of the blanket (🫠) & not under it because she hasn’t been fond of it laying on top of her lol. Happy Holidays ! 💙
We introduced a small blanket at naptime around a year old after we stopped his sleep sack. After a few weeks we started it during night time & just a few weeks ago we introduced a small toddler pillow! He loves them & I watch him on the monitor move & adjust them so he’s comfortable lol
i was weird about this too but my son refused to stay swaddled so i want to say we did it around like 4-5 months obviously monitored and we co slept so it made it easier with that as well. i just didn’t want my baby getting cold. we just introduced a pillow to our son like 2ish months ago and it helps him sleep way better because he’s always so stuffy and for comfort i think too! he sleeps with a lightweight fleece throw now. i will insert pic!
