Induction

Can anyone share their stories of induction? If I don't go into natural labour by next week, I'll need to be induced due to complications with baby's growth and would like to ready myself incase

I had an induction end of nov! They put a pessary in at 5pm. I then started getting strong Braxton hicks. By 10pm I was on a CTG as I complained of reduced movements. By 11pm they removed pessary as thought baby not reacting well to pessary as heart rate kept dropping every 10 mins. At this point I was around 1-2cm. Just before midnight I got a really strong contraction, vomited from the pain, and when they checked they said I was ready for labour! Took me to delivery suite and 1h26 later bubba was here! Super quick labour - even all the staff were surprised at how quick it all escalated

@Jas was this your first child or second etc?

I was induced with my first, they put the pessary in at 3:33pm 18th January…baby wasn’t born until 5:40 AM 19th January 😫 I believe they do 6hr and 12 hour pessary’s to induce labour. When they put the pessary in at 3:33pm my contractions didn’t start until 8pm

I was induced last week! Went in on the Monday, had dilapan rods inserted for 24hrs to help dilate my cervix, so nothing much was happening in that time! 24hrs later, only 2cm so had the pessary inserted for another 24hrs. Started getting regular contractions but baby still wasn't coming! On the Wednesday managed to have my waters broken at 5oclock in the evening! Contractions started straight away, back to back! Needed medication to slow them down and she was born 12 hours later, 5 in the morning on the Thursday. So the process was long for me but isn't always the case!

I had the pessary for 1 hour 40 minutes but went into full blown labour from that! 2 and half hours later I was holding my little boy who’s now 2 🥰 not all inductions lead to days of labour / c section no matter how many people tell you the horror stories, not all are bad! But I will say it is extremely intense from start to finish, no gradually lead up to the birthing part (for me anyway) I was having 15 second breaks in between contractions and it was exhausting but luckily not for long! Best of luck to you x

@Shan first child!

I was induced at 41 weeks and had a positive experience
