Luckily I had Medicaid. 25 hours of active labor followed by emergency c section
I had Medicaid for both so nothing for both
Insurance covered most. The rest was about $900 total.
Insurance covered most. I think I paid about $300 out of pocket but don’t remember exactly.
was charged 150 for it
Insurance covered everything
Mine was about 1500 after insurance. I was there around 24 hours before my baby was born and a few days after.
I think around $100 total to be induced, have a C-section and stay at the hospital a total of 5 nights. My insurance was billed something like 28k or some ridiculous amount.
Insurance has luckily always fully covered all my medical expenses.
I have Medicaid so mine was fully covered but it costed 14k for everything for me and a little over 3,000 for stuff baby needed like her echo and when she went to the nursery for a bath (idk why they didn’t do it in the room)
I’m deliberately paying more for my insurance ($750+ a month) for me and my husband so that we can have full coverage with no deductible/no out of pocket expenses starting next month. We are likely opting for an induction. Once the baby is born at the end of the month we plan to switch back to a more affordable plan.
@GMF right it was crazy to see the breakdown and see that had I not been covered by insurance whole thing would’ve been 65k owed for having a baby 😭 I had two epidurals and stayed all of 3 days
@M.J I’d recommend waiting a little longer, especially if you plan on vaccinating, to switch back to a cheaper insurance. Between the postpartum checkups for you and bi-weekly and then monthly checkups and shots for baby, the first few months it was worth it for me to keep the more expensive one, but it may depend on your specific insurance. Good luck with your birth!
About $3000 I think that was just my out of pocket max
