At my hospital. At 2cm you’ll be able to go straight and have your waters broken, then if you don’t start contracting within 4 hours they pop you on a hormone drip to get you started. I was induced last Thursday
I was induced with a balloon that stayed in for 4 hrs then a gel to bring on contractions. Contractions started quickly and then went downstairs to have waters broken. I had a good experience
Also being induced on Monday, I had a spontaneous birth with my first child so this is all so new to me. I saw my midwife today and she made me feel a bit easier about the process. If all well they can give you a 6 hour pessary whereby the monitor you for 6 hours send you home and you home to labour then you come back when labour has progressed well. Alternatively you come back same time next day for further checks and possible interventions if necessary. Wishing you all the best I hope all goes well.
They are very controlled, they can turn things up and down easily so try not worry…. Good luck!!
