Struggling to get ready! Need to vent
Any moms with toddlers struggling to get things ready for the new baby? Our nursery is a mess, haven't found the right hardware to convert the toddler bed back to a crib so one rail is off. originally we were going to redecorate the nursery for the new babies but that's not going to happen. Boxes of baby stuff everywhere that I still need to go through to know if we need to buy more bottles and what not. We bought a freezer so we could stock up on pre-made meals but it has been in the box on the porch for over a month without time to set it up. My husband has put off getting his haircut for a couple months. I'm expecting twins and barely able to do anything without getting exhausted so my husband is spending his time just barely keeping up with chores like laundry, cooking, and cleaning. We bought all the car seats we need but they're still in the box. Haven't packed a hospital bag even though I'm 29 weeks tomorrow and high risk for preterm labor. I have been sick with a cough for the past four weeks and haven't had time to wash or change our bedding and it is so gross from our pets dragging in dirt. My toddler had also been sleeping poorly for months which limited our ability to get things done but he is finally getting on a better schedule. My family has been coming over to help with a few things soon but it is really frustrating not to have the energy to be able to do it myself!
At the same time I've already had to do so much, we moved my son into his big boy room and redecorated it for him and he loves it, started potty training, I sold my car and got a minivan so we can easily fit three car seats, I've been taking my son to all kinds of screenings and early intervention appointments for a developmental delay and possible autism, and going to my own long high risk appointments every two weeks. I'm just so exhausted and feel like the hard part isn't even here yet! 😭
