Pain relief

How long after your c section did you take pain relief? I'm two weeks pp and feel I still need it.

Take it as you need it. Some people heal differently. Some faster some slower. And everyone has different pain tolerance. So if you feel like you need it take it. Your only 2 weeks pp it’ll take a little more time to fully adjust

I personally didn’t take anything because it didn’t work for me. As a lot of pain medicine doesn’t work for me

I intentionally discontinued pain meds on day 10. My friend still took hers well into 15 days. Everyone’s different.

I only took some on worse days as needed rather than preventatively, as of day 7. That first week I took everything I could get. Everyone is different. Take what you need, be honest about what you need. You're doing great. A lot of factors go into it.

Like 3 weeks until I ran out of meds!

They only were giving me Tylenol and Advil at the hospital so when I got home I only took Advil and Tylenol. I stayed on a tight schedule for about a week and then took it as needed until probably about 4 weeks post section.

I took it until about 3.5 weeks. I kept going longer than I felt I fully needed it, just to ensure I adjusted properly!

I’m on 3 weeks and taking paracetamol and ibuprofen 1-2 a day, but I have definitely overdone physical activity in the last couple of days and making a conscious decision to slow down for the next couple!

I didn't really take any as I don't like to take painkillers too often if I can help it. One good thing about having a disability is that I had a wheelchair at home to use for the first few weeks, so I didn't feel like I needed them too much luckily.

I think it was about 2 weeks when I stopped completely but got more sporadic and only took as needed from about day 10! I found after the first week it was mainly when I did too much or it was my back that ached from the spinal but the burning in the incision definitely eased after about a week other than getting in and out of bed

I stayed on the morphine provided for around 3 weeks before reducing it until the bottle finished but continued taking paracetamol and ibuprofen throughout the day and gradually reduced it until I didn’t need them anymore. I’m 8 weeks pp and occasionally still have days where I get pains and need some relief. Take things at your own pace and do what you feels right for your body

Three days after my section I was in a lot of pain/discomfort so the midwife who visited that day rang my gp and they prescribed me naproxen and oral morphine worked wonders x

Took it continuously for approx 16 days and then less frequent but still had some 3-4 weeks after. I'd rather take it then get any twinges or pains

I took ibuprofen/Tylenol around the clock for about 5 days, then spaced to as needed and was completely off pain meds by 2 weeks. Everyone is different!

Actual pain meds not long Ibprophen Tylenol l still take as needed and an 5 weeks pp

With my first unplanned I took it for two weeks with this planned one it was 1 week but also I know things can change as scar tissue develops and I may need it again with in this month but just like ibuprofen/tylenol because the oxy makes it hard to go to the bathroom

My hospital only gave Ibuprofen/Paracetamol, so I kept dosed up for about a week then just took as and when needed. Mainly towards the end of the day when I was physically more tired
