Experience with Cervidil

Can anyone share their experience with Cervidil? I’m being induced tomorrow morning, but was only 1cm dilated and 50% effaced, so they inserted Cervidil around 3pm today. Just looking to see what I can expect!

I was induced with no dilation or anything. They inserted Cervidil for me and sent me home I had tons of cramping and lots of back pain. I had Cervidil in for like 18 hours then they gave me a balloon Foley with Pitocin which I had overnight. They took that out in the morning and I was only manually dilated to about 6 cm. They then broke my water and I still needed to have a C-section. I was induced on a Friday afternoon and gave birth Sunday night

I ended up having cervidil 2 days in a row. It hurt a lot, I ended having a natural birth with epidural. The nurse said that people who have cervidil usually have the epidural done as cramping is more intense. As your doctor if you can take a bath, this is what helped the most for me, but I don’t remember if it was after they took it out or while I had it…

I had a less than ideal reaction. Sent me into false labour in that I had a contraction every minute, 45 seconds long. They confirmed when they hooked us up the to monitors. The kicker was I didn’t progress past 1cm in the 10 hours I had it in. Lol. Hence the ‘false’. They removed it. My fluids released on their own a few hours later. Dilated to 9cm within a handful of hours. They’re failed to place the epidural a half dozen times so I rocked vaginal delivery without one. Had to refrain from pushing for a couple contractions waiting for the doctor to arrive. Was a fun time to learn that was even a thing.

I had cervidil inserted at 41+3 and my water broke 12hrs later. I managed to labour unassisted for 4 hrs after that, then needed oxytocin and an epidural. At 20hrs we went for a csection because baby's hr deceleration.

I had cervadil for my induction st 40 + 2. It did cause contractions, but it was weird, they didn't feel that strong to me. It felt like the normal Braxton Hicks contractions I'd been feeling occasionally, maybe a bit more regular. I did start timing them but a couple were off so I dismissed it... ... I will say the night did end in an emergency c section, but it was because my placenta had ruptured. I don't believe it was related because the placenta was fairly low-lying and it could have been caused by contractions regardless of if they were induced or not. On a whole it wasn't bad I suppose. Just awkward and weird having it inserted but it didn't feel awful or make me sick or anything.
