Night time poo struggles

Does anyone else's baby spend some nights straining loudly for poos. No difference to how much she is winded. No signs of constipation, but whilst asleep in the next to me she will loudly strain during active sleep

Yup! It definitely stops her from sleeping through the night! And keeps waking me up wondering if she needs feeding but she tends to fall back asleep so my sleep is more broken too 🙄

Yeah i’ve had that exact thing tonight, had me up twice. He’ll grunt for a while and do the loudest fart which really wakes me up then he’ll need changing & feeding. 😟

If they're not actually constipated, my HV explained that their brain and muscle don't know how to coordinate properly yet, so they know they need to push but don't know how much, so they overcompensate 😅 Mine does the same, it's annoying in the night but nothing we can do.

Good to know, tonight she has been especially bad and it's been pretty non stop, so haven't yet slept

yep! i has this for a good few weeks constantly. my son is 9 weeks now and i’m pretty sure he’s grown out of it now cos i’ve not heard him do it for ages now. hopefully jt doesn’t go on much longer for you too. i hope that you’re ok and can get some sleep soon xxxx

Yeah!!!!

Try playing white noise all night. It will help her sleep and block out her minor noises for you so you can sleep better too.

Infant dyschezia, totally normal. It's meant to get better within a week or so, my baby did this often and is 9 weeks now and can pass stool without the drama. Stil makes funny noises at times 😆 .. ps ear plugs might help drown out the bulk of the noise but you can still hear your Lo cry when they need you, depending how heavy sleeper you are xx
