Thank you, he’s 5 weeks. We have been doing the exercises and massage but doesn’t seem to be helping. I’ll try a bath!x
If you youtube/ tik tok search massage for constipation it will give you a good amount of exercises and you can need to apply a bit of pressure when doing it to. Also using some baby oil/ moisturiser helps with the massage too. X
I've been advised that putting a small amount of vaseline around their bum hole acts as a protective barrier, so when they do eventually go and the stool is a bit hard then they may be able to pass with less pain
Is he breastfed? Formula fed? Does he seems bothered by it@
Doctor prescribed us suppositories to help with our four month old x
My baby was exactly the same he had colic also but I tried everything. My baby was bottle fed so I was recommended to change his milk to comfort milk he is now 4 months and back on his original milk
@Reena he’s breastfed, he is grunting and turning red as if he is trying
My little one is 5 weeks old and hasn’t pooed for nearly 5 days now (normally poos 5-6 times a day). The GP has prescribed lactulose so I am hoping that will take effect soon 🤞
If your baby is breastfeeding, it is ok without a couple of days poo. Otherwise please eat yourself pumpkin seeds, drink green smoothies, your baby straight away will poo in a couple of hours. tested, works
@Victoria some breastfed babies start pooing less frequently after 6 weeks. Your baby is approaching that age so it could be that. I'm assuming baby has been gaining weight appropriately. I would offer the breast more as breastmilk is a natural laxative.
@Katia thank you, I will try these. What did you use for the green smoothies?
@Victoria just buy in Waitrose or Asda any green color smothie( apple🍎 pear etc mixture of fruits), I usually like smothie once I drink my daughter would poo in 30 min or 1-2 hrs...
How old is he? Baths, bicycle legs/ tummy massage for baby under 6months. If older the same plus weetabix always helps my little one. Prune pouches help too x
