Naps

Is anyone elses 16 month old refusing to nap? He definitely isn’t ready to drop it because he will go so tired at around about 4pm if he doesn’t have one but all he does is play in his cot and refuse to sleep even though he’s absolutely shattered. We had the same battle yesterday and he didn’t have one but we put him to bed at 6pm and he slept until 8am, so I’m just wondering if I should just drop it because this is becoming a daily battle that I don’t think I want to have. He is learning more words, and babbling a lot more and yesterday he said ‘nose’ and pointed at my nose so maybe it could just be developmental. Is anyone else in the same boat?

My son is not yet 16 months but he has been doing this since he turned 15 months. He eventually falls asleep but it takes minimum 1 hour and he is also not in a cot because he climbs out 😅. I am wondering the same because when he doesn't nap he goes to bed around 6.30pm and sleeps through until 7 something which he never does (he usually sleeps from 8pm to 5.30/6.30). I remember he was similar before dropping to 1 nap so I guess it's a matter of winging it until he eventually drops it? Can also try moving the nap/quiet time a bit later every day so he gets used to longer wake windows

He crashed at 3pm😂 he must’ve just needed that later nap but he’s also cutting one his very back teeth too so I did give him some pain relief before I lay him in his cot so now I’m wondering if it’s that instead

My daughter is 16months and went from 2 to 1 nap at 15 months and is the same will refuse or get tired by 3pm. X My son stopped naps at 20months haha x
