Postpartum Fatigue

Hi, this is not about the baby but about me! Little boy is 15 weeks and 4 days old and I'm struggling! Every period is flooring me and I feel awful all the time! The fatigue is similar to how I felt in the first trimester, brain fog, whole body aches, cold and just feeling a bit down! It's not because of baby, he sleeps great and is happy 95% of the time! Just wondering if anyone else has felt like this and what it turned out to be? TIA

You might be anaemic speak to your GP xx

@Sofi I was anaemic whilst pregnant, they checked it a couple of weeks postpartum and it was fine they said

Any chance you could be pregnant? X

@Hannah no chance at all! X

I got like this a few weeks ago. I was not sleeping well as . Like I’d sleep but my mind was fully awake. I told my gp about it and their suggestion was I lost too much blood during my surgery and my body is still in shock as I had c section . I was feeling dizzy and nauseous. Similar to first trimester . I increased my water and food intake literally forced myself to eat and took extra magnesium along with my breastfeeding vits and napped whenever I got the chance and I have been feeling like myself the past 2 nights . However please do see your GP. I think in my situation I had anxiety as my body is still Going through a lot and LO demanding breastfeeding pretty much every half and hour if I’m lucky . Also was worried my iron levels dropped so waiting for blood test

@S that's really interesting as I had a cat 1 emergency C-section and lost more blood than they would have liked! I do think it's some sort of trauma response but I don't know if the trauma has thrown something out of whack! I'm going to see if I get in with the GP before Christmas!
