@Chloe I will try some water, don’t think I can stand the thought of anything flavoured but thank you I really appreciate it
Oh dear this sounds pretty severe. Not sure how far along you are and if you have a midwife yet, if so I would call them. If not then the early pregnancy unit. They might need to bring you in and give you a drip. Give them a call and they’ll help you feel better 🤗
@Kathryn yeah it’s not great, it was pretty bad in my first trimester but not like this, I’m 19 weeks, I think I’m just gunna ring 111 and not take any chances x
Hey, this might be hyperemesis gravidarum if you can't keep anything down. Go to a&e and they'll put you on the drip. If not you will get dehydrated and get protein in your urine xx
@Robyn I spoke to 111 so hopefully get a call back soon and see what they say thank you
Think you can also call maternity triage after 16 weeks. But hopefully 111 gets back pronto!!
This happened to me, I went to a&e and needed three bags of saline to get me right again, definitely worth it I wish I could have one weekly to rehydrate me, pregnancy is tough!
@Lor iv managed to keep sips down every 15 mins I really want to avoid going in so close to Christmas, gunna attempt some toast and fingers crossed that help 🤞 but I’m waiting on the on call gp to ring me and see what they advise but thank you x
@Courtney I only had to stay a few hours then I could go home they won’t admit you or anything just give you an antisickness injection and some fluids once that’s done you can go! But completely understandable! I hope you feel better soon, I have HG but on this occasion I also had norovirus, I definitely noticed the difference it was constant rather than a few times a day so I wonder it you might have something on top of your HG? X
@Lor my little boy has just had a bug this week which I did get, but was fine a few days after but this is just not stop, I’m so hungry but I can’t keep stuff down, but if I got go in then I will, my first pregnancy was no where near this bad 🤣x
Highly recommend getting some anti sickness tablets. I tried 4 types until something worked so don’t suffer with it. Hoping you feel better soon
It can be dangerous for you and baby if you loose to much weight from not being able to keep anything down. I had the same issue, for a week I wasn't able to keep anything down. Was being sick 10-12 times a day... I even lost 8lbs. Docs said if I'd lost 1st or more in could have been hospitalised. Definitely get seen asap, they will want to check you over, possibly offer you a drip and give you anti sickness meds. They did this with me and then I was forced to eat food and be able to keep it down before they would let me go home. They then sent me home with anti sickness tablets which thankfully worked. 1000% get checked out, it's better safe than sorry hun (P.s sorry if I scared you with this, I just don't want anything horrible to happen ) x
@Pia iv managed to eat something so waiting to see if it stays down, manage to keep water down which is a good sign s
If you can’t tolerate any fluids, after even 12 hours I’d recommend speaking with your maternity team. If you’ve tried flavoured water, ice lollies, squash or a fruit juice and still can’t handle even 5ml for 15 mins, (repeat as often pos), then seek medical advice. try not to worry, but dehydration is serious and you should take it seriously. You aren’t going to waste anyone’s time xx
