I was the same, I had IVF so had scan at 6 and 8 weeks. Had one at 11 weeks privately as my NHS scan wasn’t until nearer 13 weeks and I wanted reassurance. I think it’s really normal to be worried and want reassurance, if you can afford a private scan it’s a really nice experience
I don’t there is “too many” scans tbh. My first pregnancy I was high risk and hit a scan every month up til the end and then hit one every week. So I think you’ll be fine. It’s hard too waitvthoughz I am 6 weeks now and dying to get a scan lol. My first OB appointment is the 2nd of January. Then we wait to schedule an ultrasound S I know I’ll be considered high risk again
I'm 9+5 and have had 4 so far, with 2 more booked in before I'm 12 weeks. I've had two miscarriages so the NHS have been scanning me weekly for reassurance, however sometimes it ends up being more like 10 days so I've booked a private one in between. I don't think there's such a thing as too many if it helps you get through the early stage that seems to go on forever.
I’m under epu I have been having scans every 2 weeks since 5 weeks
I had EPU scan at 6 weeks, private scan at 9 weeks, another private at 11, and my NHS 12 weeks when I was nearly 13 weeks! Due to previous miscarriages I was so nervous so wanted the reassurance xx
Honestly if it gives you peace of mind and you have the money just book one! My baby is one now (this came up on my feed) but I think I had 5 between 7 weeks and 18 weeks, between NHS and private ones. Once you start feeling kicks its a lot less worrying but in these early days do whatever you need to do! xx
I had one at 6 one at 8 I’ve got One today at 10+3 then my 12 week one is 2 weeks today x
Dont think there is a thing of too much scans. If you can go for more and it would give you reassurance, go for it 💜
The NHS advise 2 weeks between scans (I can’t find the evidence or this documented anywhere online though!). If you need a scan to reassure you, and you have the means, then just do it! Peace of mind is so important x
I’m in the same boat. Where I am I can’t just have a reassurance scan. Unless I go to the emergency room and that feels dramatic… I am trying to stay zen and just wait for the 12 week one. It’s hard!! If you can get a reassurance scan, I would totally understand you going to get it. I’m intrigued to read what others will say.
