Naps

Is anyone else’s two and a half year olds refusing naps? It’s been a struggle for a few weeks now and it’s a battle I don’t think I can keep fighting. My 2.5 yr old just refuses to lay down she will throw the biggest tantrum or start laughing and playing like it’s a game. Yesterday she threw such a big tantrum bc I was trying to do quiet time instead that she bit me and broke skin. We skipped naps a couple times last week and she seemed fine towards the end of the day more tantrums then normal but still not bad and she would pass out for bedtime at 7pm in 5-10 min. With her nap she isnt going to bed till 8:30 and it's taking her 1-2 hours to fall asleep. Should I just cut naps and try harder with quiet time (any quiet time tips) or should i keep trying to get her to nap everyday? (Usually i can get her down in an hour for nap but not when her dads home idk) sorry I feel like this post is all over the place! 😂

Yes! I need to follow this question bc I thought it was because we are 5 days into an antibiotic but maybe there’s something else at play here 🤔

My 2.5 yr old dropped his nap around the time he turned 2. The only time I can get him to nap is in the car or if he wakes up really early. Other than that, he takes no naps

If she really tired she nap . Otherwise it would be an early bed time . My son did same . Now he only naps when he needs to.

Mine stopped right around 2, the only way I can get her to nap is if we’re in the car. She goes to bed around 8/8:30 , passes out within 10 minutes then wakes up between. 7:30-8:30am. If she had a bad night or wakes up earlier then she’ll fall asleep around 4pm on her own so I try to do a car ride before then lol . But mine has always been super low sleep needs , to the point I was like concerned in the newborn stage with how much she was awake since they need sleep 😅🤷‍♀️ meanwhile one of her friends the same age 2.5, naps a solid 2/3 hours still

Thank you to everyone’s response so far this is extremely helpful to know I’m not alone. Everything I read their two year old still naps or their kid napped til 4 and I just didn’t know if I should keep trying to enforce it. But I think I’m just going to drop it and nap when she seems like she needs one. When she does nap it’ll be a 2-3hr nap but then bedtime has been so difficult. Thanks again ♥️
