Had a bad breast and now baby won't feed from that side.

For some reason I had skin peeling off my left nipple, I got little cuts around it and was uncomfortable so didn't feed baby from that side. It's healed now and just went to feed baby from that side and he latched suckled twice pulled off looked confused tried again then cried and wouldn't feed but fed fine from my other breast. Why is this? Will my milk dry up that side? Baby is 1 now so not too worried if our journey ends but he does feed still from my right boob.
