What happens after a sleep regression?

Looking to pick some experienced mums brains please 🙏 Everyone talks about them when they are happening, usually lots of dread and negativity. But what is it like after? How do you know when you’re out the other side? What if baby was a good sleeper before, good self soother, will they go back to being like that? TIA from very inexperienced mum

Idk bc my 3mo old is such a good sleeper im so afraid too lol

My first was never really a good sleeper, she would wake up every two hours, but when she hit the four month sleep aggression she was waking up every 45 minutes. It lasted about 11 weeks and was exhausting. I knew I was out of it when all of a sudden she started sleeping longer stretches Out of nowhere and it stayed that way.

@Yyeli 11 weeks! I’ve not heard it can go on for that long.

Every baby is different, my first also had colic so she did not have the best temperament. It did take her a little bit longer, but it is possible for it to take that long.

in my daughter’s experience, after the rough part is over her sleep schedule is usually a bit different than before and she goes back to going to sleep easily and sleeping all night. she didn’t have one until 8/9 months and it lasted a month 😵‍💫 then another sometime between 12 and 18 months, then most recently around her 2nd birthday
