My baby used to be on each boob for like 30-45 minutes each time for her like first two months of life. I’m not sure if that’s normal or not but that’s what it was 😅
It’s normal. Babies feed for so many different reasons like hunger, thirst, comfort, temperature regulation, overstimulation, to increase your milk supply etc. The first 2 months are hard, but it will get to a point when they are quick and efficient and your milk supply is established to the levels they need. Then it gets easier and you will have less cluster feeds etc. I would check with the breast feeding support through your HV, get someone to check your latch, make sure your baby has enough wet and dirty nappies. If that’s all ok, then you are doing well.
Always. lol. They cluster feed. I formula fed my baby for the first three weeks as I was dealing w supply issues ( painful recovery-) but breastfed after that. And there were days that I barely got away from her. My husband had to handle dinner. Bring food to me. I was barely able to move. It’s rough but I hope you have help so u can just focus on feeding baby and someone else can focus on you 💕 my girl will be a year in a few days. Take it day by day is the best advice I can give
Mines 7 weeks now but the BF support said to me between 10 and 45 is normal, quite a big difference I know but also with them being only 8 days they may feed little and often, cluster feeding! Can be tough. It's hard to know what they are having and especially when only 10 mins but night milk is different to morning milk as well . You will know they are feeding ok when you get them weighed xx
