Kids ready meals

Has anyone got any suggestions for quick kids ready meals? I’ve seen a lot but they’re more aimed at young children. My daughter likes her food but I can’t cope anymore with the CONSTANT snacks after school. I used to make second lunches for her to have when she got home but even this has stopped working! I’m thinki...

13 month old off his food

My 13-month-old has been poorly recently, and since then, he has hardly eaten anything, just picking at his food. He was slow in weaning but eventually ate everything. Does anyone have any suggestions or have experienced something similar?

Weaning!

Hi, ftm here! I’ve seen people introduce purées at 4 months, my little brother (18 months now) was also introduced purées at 4 months. My lb is amazing with a spoon as he’s had a&p powder for his teethies! Is it safe to introduce purées at 4 months? He’s currently 14 weeks nearly 15 weeks. I want to BLW at 6 mon...

How are you cutting fruit up now they’re nearly 2 years old? 🍇

Are we still cutting grapes into quarters (I am)? Also blueberries? I usually give whole so put them whole in her nursery lunch and nursery cut them in half for her. Have your little ones tried apple? Mine hasn’t tried fresh apple - it’s so hard so worried she’ll choke!?

Finger foods for 6m+?

What finger foods are you introducing to your babies? I’m quite worried about choking so not sure if to start with some of the melt in mouth sticks to get him used to finger foods. Advice welcome 🤗

Dairy free

My son is a sicky boy and has been since birth. GP has asked me to try a week of dairy free as he is EBF. Can anyone suggest a dairy free milk. I've tried soy and couldn't stand the taste. I'm allergic to nuts so can't try almond milk etc. Any tips for milk but also other dairy free alternatives that I may not have ...

Are your LO using cutlery yet and what do they served at their nursery?

My LG started nursery last week and she loves it, apart from the food they served! When I looked at the menu, the two days she was in, they served tomato soup with bread and lasagna for lunch! She can’t use cutlery yet hence can’t have either. So she survived on bananas and plums, and had two bottles while at nursery….

Weaning advice

I am guessing we are all weaning now or are starting to? I thought it might be a good idea to use this as a thread of ideas or us all on meals/tastes for baby. I am following Charlotte sterling Reids method and advice and offering veggies 1st. I'm doing breakfast at the moment after his morning nap so approx 10am, ...

Eating with hands

What way do your babies eat? Like do they pick food up with hands and eat or are they able to put food on a spoon/fork themselves and eat it? Mine picks up with his hands. If it something soft like mash potatoes or porridge I will feed it to him and he sometimes takes spoon off me to feed himself. He has just starte...

Anyone else’s toddler seem to just survive off of snacks at this point?😅

Don’t get me wrong she’s never been a great eater, but she now hates sitting down and having meals so it feels like she’s living off of snacky bits 🫣 hoping it’s just a phase though. She is still breastfed, so I suppose there is that too! She’s not a foodie and that’s fine, but hoping I’m not the only one going…

Eating mess

I feel like I’m going mad - my boy has mainly been BLW with some spoon feeding to make sure he’s getting enough but the mess is getting worse! It’s like it’s a game and I’m getting so worked up about it (internally). I’m trying to go with the flow but literally he bathes in his food. This morning he got porridge in ...

Breakfast cereals for 13 month old?

We have been giving Weetabix and fruit for my son for breakfast and he’s loving it so far but would like to give him some variety. Is there any other cereals you’d recommend? He doesn’t like porridge 😊 Also yes I know some cereals contain a lot of sugar and these are to be avoided where possible but I would just…

BLW – when should my baby actually eat food?

My baby is 7 months old, we started a combination of BLW and offering the same food as puree at the same time about 2 weeks ago. Since then, baby has only put two items in her mouth and barely swallowed anything. Every other time, she's just putting her hand in the puree for a couple of seconds, watches us eat, pull...

Do you give your LO breakfast at home before sending them to nusery? Or do you always send them straight to nusery for them to feed them there?

If you don’t feed them at home, do you give anything to eat (like a snack) to them in the morning before sending them?
