Recommendations???

Hey, so I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant and I'm really struggling with items that I need to buy?! I've got clothes but have no clue about baby bottles and sterilizers, breast pump brands and bedside crib? I've been reading reviews but each brand will have something negative about them and I don't know what to buy now. Bottles I'm currently stuck between MAM, Dr. Brown and Tommy Tippee. I know MAM has self sterilising microwave bottles but I don't know if that's any good? Any advice on which one is good? I'm planning to breast feed but also use bottle? Also any advice on a good breast pump and bedside crib? I went to a baby show and there I was recommended Ardo which is a little on the expensive side but supposedly really good. Any advice will do, thank you in advance.

We use tommee tippee bottles & their steriliser. I BF and bottle feed and my LO took to the bottle fairly quickly. Tommee tippee also have self sterilising bottles which are okay! I use a cheap pump cos I feed rather than pump but I got this one from Amazon & it works for me! https://amzn.eu/d/i8vYwqb We have the tutti bambini cozee next to me crib, it works well for us and folds well for travel

I got a few tommy tippee bottles with their steam steriliser. I got mam bottles at the suggestion of my sister who's a nursery nurse. She uses hundreds of different bottles everyday for babies and says the mam ones are best overall for air, colic and latch. So I've listened and stocked up. I'm also hoping to breast feed daily and also use formula so she dosent only just choose one. I went mamas and papas petite for crib Mamas and papas lua for bedside as my bed is very low - it rocks, removable bassinet and is a travel cot.

I had bambini cozee for the first six months before transfering baby to a crib, it was all right, no issues. Even got it used from vinted for 50£. Generally there will always be something negative about every product, can’t please everyone 🤷🏻‍♀️ for bottles we used dr. Browns, but I only gave formula, so maybe it’s different. If you do go for them, when the formula is hot, don’t shake the bottle or have it completely screwed shut while heating up, it will leak, it took some trial and error before I learned the trick 😅

Mam bottles are fab x

Tommee tippee now have self sterilising bottles too, was so upset as they're new and my eldest just stopped with bottles 🤣 id honestly have just a few of each and try as some babies are picky 💖

If you join the boots parenting club you get a free mam bottle, I also got another free one when I had my 4D scan yesterday, they look great and I’ve heard they are really good bottles x

Your baby will have a preference… you can spend lots of money on bottles etc.. but some babies will take to some and others hate them. There is no right or wrong decision. Depends what your budget is. Own brand items are just as good too. X

All my friends have said they only use Mam bottles and don't like Tommie tippie. For bedside cots go to John Lewis or Smyths or something and ask for advice from the staff. John Lewis do bookable slots where they will give you advice on all baby things.

I personally wouldn’t buy an expensive breast pump before baby is born. I bought an expensive one before my first and BF didn’t work out for us so only ever used it once. My first never liked mam bottles are preferred the teat of TT. We used Dr browns anti colic when she was a newborn and then TT. TT is very affordable also. The teat of Dr brown and TT is very similar. I used the electric sterilisers and Milton cold water but in the end the £12 TT microwave one was the best one for us. Breast pumps are so vast depending on your budget. I’ve heard good things about the Hakaa manual one for your let down. I have a medela one from my first which I am planning to try use. I’ve seen the elvie in bra ones but don’t want to spend more on pumps so might try the dupes on Amazon, I thinks it kissbobo, it has loads of good reviews

We had tommee tippee bottles at first with my newborn - hadn’t researched bottles because I just assumed breastfeeding would work out. He had them fine, but by chance we tried Lansinoh bottles as we’d been gifted some. I really feel these bottles taught my son how to latch at the breast because of the shape of the teet. I’d always tried him at my breast from 5 days old while the milk warmed but once he’d tried the lansinoh bottles, he spent longer and longer on me which was great. He went to a fully breastfed baby at 12 weeks old. I’ll be buying new lansinoh bottles for my next one, even just to top up baby with formula to maintain weight. (Formula mixed with expressed milk).

Thank you all for the advice, I'll definitely be looking into the products you guys recommended 😊
