Family opinions

Hi! I’m very early along (only about 5 weeks) I shared the news with my family almost instantly. My parents were incredibly happy for their first grandchild and were ready to be my village. For context, my older sister does not want kids. A baby crying is nails on a chalkboard for her. After I told her, she called our dad and said ‘is she really ready for this’ & ‘do you think she can do this?’. Which led to our dad calling me and saying ‘if you decide you’re not ready, you can always try again later, no one would judge you if you decide you aren’t ready’. I thought that was completely uncalled for and kinda rude. I called them excited and happy to share the news so there should be nothing left to take out of context. How is everyone handling rude family? Would you let family members start popping up suddenly just because you’re pregnant? Is it just the hormones telling me to cut anyone out that is judgmental and only comes around for the baby?

Omg, that’s so crazy!! I’m sorry they did that 🫤 I have no contact with my mothers side of the family and we are for sure as soon as they find out I’m pregnant they are going to come banging on the door trying to weasel their way back into our lives but we have no room for their toxic behaviors. Especially after my mom at one point stood in front of me and said she didn’t want grandkids especially with that “f&$ker” speaking about my husband smh.

You don’t deserve any sort of judgement at all, do what’s best for you. No matter what.
