Ahead of my first retrieval my clinic estimated 7-10 follicles with most appearing mature in size. I ended up collecting 7 eggs, 4 fertilized, and 2 became blastocysts. After PGT testing only 1 was normal and it ended in a chemical pregnancy. I’m currently preparing for my second egg retrieval (July). I know it’s easier said than done but try not to focus too much on the quantity as the quality matters much more. And you may have some follicles continue to grow even after you trigger, giving you a higher yield come retrieval. Good luck to you! 🙏
Definitely try not to focus on the number of follicles. I had very few follicles, all slow growing and collection got delayed, I ended up taking 14 days of stims which is the maximum the clinic allowed. Then on egg collection day I ended up with 16 eggs, 13 mature, all 13 fertilized, and ended up with 3 day 5 blasts. Currently 19 weeks with our first FET blastocyst 🩵 All this to say, it can all change, it is a numbers game so I know it feels important to focus on how many you have, but each one COULD be a baby, so you only need 1 good one!
I had 3 good sized follicles. I think this is the minimum number needed for trigger. Mine were growing at different rates and some were still immature at collection but we did get an ok number of eggs (7) and ended up with two blastocysts
