Tdap

Has anyone chosen not to get the TDAP with any of their children ? If so how did that pan out ?

I chose not to get it. He has to get it at 4 weeks anyway. He is now a week old and perfectly healthy. Just make sure people stay out of their face until they are vaccinated.

@Brook thanks ok so after the baby gets vaccinated then people can come around regardless if they are vaccinated or not I assume?

Typically yes. But not every vaccine is 100% effective. You can still catch something, although you have been vaccinated for it. My rule myself is if your sick, don’t come around. Wash your hands before touching him. And stay out of his face/ don’t kiss him.

Why am I 38 weeks going to have my first any day now and my OB has never mentioned getting Tdap? What is it

I didn’t get it with my son and my son is not vaccinated never got sick. Actually his immune system is better than most vaccinated kids I know. Didn’t get it with my current pregnancy and my daughter will not be getting any vaccines as well.

I got it because I’m planning on delaying some vaccines until bbs kidneys are more efficient. I had no issues with it.

I got it while pregnant but didn't vaccine my kid. I was more comfortable with my body processing the majority of it rather than him. I didn't get it this pregnancy because it's good for two years, and I'm having two under two, so I didn't need it. I won't be vaccinating this baby either.
