Breech baby Health

Hi everyone, Does anyone have breech Son/Daughter here? My foetus is currently breech. I am worried about his/her health. Are breech babies born with some health issues?

My daughter was breech my entire pregnancy and she’s perfectly healthy with no hip issues either! She just liked to keep her legs straight up for the first couple of weeks but she relaxed

@Sara wow so good. Thanks

Concerns afterbirth are hip dysplasia, checked for after birth and 8 week check. Vaginal birth can increase the risk of cord/oxygen complications due to not being head first BUT this is a risk for any birth. C sections can increase gut health issues due to not receiving bacteria from the birth canal but not life changing. Also breathing issues at birth due to not having the natural squeeze to clear lungs. However all risks above are possible for any birth. My advice would be decide what you'd rather in terms of birth and ask if there is someone you can speak to who has breach birth delivery experience to speak to you about pros and cons xx

Mine was breach until I got an ECV at 35 weeks. He was born at 37 at nearly 21in and 10lbs so he was huge. He has no health issues. He’s now 8 months and trying to walk on his own… 🥲 if they are born breech they can have hip dysplasia but with braces by 2 most cases are resolved between grown, use, and braces. 🫶🏻

My daughter was breach towards end of pregnancy tried ecv but they left it too late and she wouldn’t move. Ended with. Emergency c section and baby is completely fine

My baby was breech at 28 week scan and was head down by 36 week scan.

Absolutely nothing to worry about :) they might need some extra help breathing when they’re first born if a vaginal birth as they often come out quite quickly! But not all do, mine didn’t. And as others have said they’ll need to have their hips checked, but nothing that can’t be sorted x
