Uncontrollable crying

Ladies I’ll be honest, I’m really not enjoying being a mum. My child melts down+++ - they scream ALL the day. They don’t sleep. They don’t feed well. It’s relentless. How do you stop an uncontrollable baby?

I experienced this for a good few weeks and my mental health plummeted so just want to send some hugs your way. The only way my little one would calm was to pop him in the carrier and take him for a walk. Apart from that he would just continually cry until exhausted. I spoke to the health visitors and they told me about the cry curve that all babies go through and you may just be at the peak of it. I hope it gets better for you soon!

@Steph 🫂

Background noises seem to work with my baby, so baby in carrier whilst I’m hoovering. Also the white noise machine with rain or tumble dryer sounds whilst doing gentle sways continuously help calm him (baby again in carrier). It will get better - sending hugs, you’re doing great.

@PinkPink thank you. It’s always worked … until today. Tears morning noon and night ….. from the 2 of us 😭😭

Sending love, its hard! 🥰

Bless you, i had a horrid time the first 2 months , i found the biggest help is being around lots of people, lots of people to take the baby lots of distractions , my saddest days are still when im alone for a few days in a row. Sounds like you need some proper advice from a professional x

Getting out and about should keep baby distracted but also they go through fussy phases .. my little boy cried solidly for 4 days straight last week it was so hard but then he came out the other side so fingers crossed that’s the same for you too xx

@Joselle THIS 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Sounds like baby may has colic. It's a struggle parenthood but it won't always be like this mama, your doing a great job and you will get through the other side. Xx

Hey! We went through a stage of this for a couple of weeks. If you don’t mind me asking are they struggling when they feed? Our LB all of a sudden really struggled with wind/gas

@Katie no not really. Pukes after bottles a lot of the time but always has 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Alice 😘😘😘😘

I had this a little for a week a while ago and then helped my baby get to sleep for more regular naps and she became a v happy baby! I’d put her in the pram after 1.25 - 2 hours wake windows, putting her down when she got a bit cranky and I’d wheel her around and she’d snooze and in general became much happier

@Victoria yes I’ve been paying more attention to wake windows for a week now 😘

Oh bless you my first born was the same! Does your little one drain bottles? Have you changed test size? If they are bottle feeding that is. Xx

@Rachel no - very hard to get them to drink a bottle!

Have you tried changing your bottles? We changed to Dr Browns and he was like a different baby was soo much happier when feeding and afterwards x

Oh must be hard have you changed teat size? Also have you heard of silent reflux maybe look into that too. I have heard Dr Brown bottles are good too x

@Katie 2 of yous said this - thanks - that’s good to know!

@Rachel I did yes. I wasn’t aware of Dr Browns being good. Thank you.
