Cluster feeding

My son is 9 days old and he’s cluster feeding, the boy is insatiable! Every 20/30 minutes he’s searching my chest for milk or screaming for a feed; I’ve been trying a dummy in between to save my boobs from the pain! Has anyone else experienced this? It seems excessive the amount he’s drinking 🫣

My first baby did this! It does pass I promise x

It’s completely normal! Babies usually have a growth spurt at day 10 so it’s their way of increasing your supply. It tends to last a couple/few days. It will pass but it is really tough. My baby girl did exactly the same. Xx

@Emma Roadnight how long did it last for 🥲

4 weeks in so far and it sort of slows to just a cluster feed in the evening at the moment, hang in there! X

My boy is 3 weeks and he is slowly stopping the cluster feeds. My toddler also did this too the first week or so, but we found it was the umbilical cord causing discomfort which was making him need me as comfort. Trust me the cluster feeding gets painful if you already have a toddler 😂😂 feel like I haven’t slept in 3 weeks 😂😂

Going through right now too!! It's exhausted I was combi feeding but got mastitis so stopped however the way she is tonight I've sterilised the bottles just so I can have a break! X

11 days old and my little boy is also having a massive growth spurt and feeding constantly. Exhausting! I'm promised it does end after a few days!

Totally been there/still there 3 weeks later! Have you tried nipple shields if you’re experiencing pain? Let your midwife know if you’re struggling with your nipples and they can give you a lot of guidance on positions/latch/ways to help with pain ☺️
