You absolutely have a right and choice to birth however you wish 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Always remember that. C section comes with its risk but so does induction. Ask your provider for risks and benefits of each, short term and long term and read up about both and then make a decision X
@Shannon it was at a sitting 197 for a couple of minutes and then would go to around 175 it wasnt going back down to below 160, iv lost 2 babies before and the anxiety is eating me alive x
@Gabi i see the consultant tomorrow so im going to talk through all my options, the anxietys just eating away at me x
@Charlotte given your history and the fact it wasn’t dropping below 160 for what I assume are Braxton Hicks I feel like you have a good case for a section if that is what makes you more comfortable. I am sooo against having a section personally as my mom died having an emergency section but in your shoes I think I’d rather a scheduled section then risk a traumatic induction and end up with a section anyway because baby can’t handle the contractions or induction drugs.
@Shannon i didnt necessarily want a c section im all for having a natural birth, but im happy to do whatevers gonna be safest for baby, so sorry to hear about your mom! X
I was told I might need an induction at 37 weeks, I don’t anymore but wanted to opt for a section in this case as I’m so against being induced. midwife said they try to do only do sections from 39 weeks due to the baby learning how to deal with fluid etc over the next few weeks and that if I had a section any earlier, I would need steroids beforehand to help baby along. I’m sure they will let you, you have a choice at the end of the day, just mention it sooner rather than later so that you can start the steroids in enough time xxx
You can absolutely choose. I have decided against induction no matter what, so if they tell me baby needs to come out it will be via c section.
If you want a c section, there should be no reason why they'd say no, your birth, your choice 😊
Babies heart rate is supposed to spike during a contraction but drop back below 160 afterwords (don’t know how high is to high but if it was mentioned that an early induction is possible there is probably a reason for it). If it’s high and remains high it is a sign of distress (I almost had an emergency section for this reason with my induction last year). I don’t know see why they wouldn’t allow you to opt for a c-section if you are worried about baby handling the contractions, that being said I think it will majorly depend on other risk factors how many sections they have booked and your consultants/hospital’s policy and preference is.
