Before clicking your profile, I thought you were a blondie haha. The scarf is catfishing 😋. Yes, Russell’s is the one close to my new home, so it’s nice to hear you had a good experience there. It’s good to hear they treated you well, that makes me less scared to move hospitals. Were the staff mostly white tho? Or were there mixed like Africans and south Asians?
I only recently dyed my hair back to brown LOL was a blondie for a while. Anywho, yeah I’d say it’s definitely diverse
My closest one is Russells hall and I went there for my first baby. I didn’t have a good experience so I went to Birmingham women’s for my second. I was considering city too at the time as it has great reviews. Everyone’s experience is different but do your research and if you were happy with city I would consider travelling if possible
Also just to add, RHH was better for scans and for getting you seen if you had any worries during the pregnancy, that part was great, BWH was better during labour, birth and postnatal care
If it makes you feel any better the city hospital maternity unit is closing down and moving so from November 6th no one will be giving birth there anymore! It’s moving to the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick
@Annie thank you for sharing. Of course I will keep on researching bout it
@Aleena oh yeah, I’m aware. It’s still in an area that I’m more familiar with so it doesn’t make a difference for me
Hey girly, I’m due to give birth at Russell’s Hall Hospital in Dudley, and I’ve had the best experience. Every time I’ve called for a concern or worry they haven’t made me feel silly for coming in and have made sure I’m satisfied with everything before discharging me - for example more recently I wasn’t happy with baby’s movements so they had me on daily CTG until I was happy again and it was entirely in my control when that daily monitoring ended. Every midwife, nurse, doctor and consultant I’ve spoken to has been absolutely lovely. They also are super quick with referrals and are really on top of their game. I’m from south Asian background and was quite worried about the treatment I’d face however they have been nothing short of reassuring and encouraging the whole time and I’m genuinely excited to be giving birth there.
