It depends what kind of class it is. We go to a music bugs class which is definitely beneficial for baby. We started at 5 weeks and he is now 9 weeks and he absolutely loves it! Lots of singing to your baby and interacting with them and then sensory things at the end. Anything like baby massage/yoga, baby sign language etc which the council normally run are led by someone so it’s more about you and your baby. I go to a baby first friends group which is more about being social but I’ll do anything to get out the house! I only speak to my friend that goes as I find it hard socialising so the led groups are definitely better! And he normally sleeps well after doing any classes x
I started going to baby sensory classes from 10 weeks, the first session she cried and slept through most of it but the next one we were able to join in a lot more, she's really started paying more attention to toys in the last couple weeks so I don't feel like it's a waste. She is the youngest in her class by about a month though
I took my little girl to baby sensory starting at 7 weeks. Helps me to know what to do with her when I'm at home too for her development ☺️
I started at 6 weeks to a baby bloom class it's great but my baby has been hit and miss for enjoying it! Definitely helps me with ideas to try at home though
I take my LG to a Rhythm Time class on Fridays and started when she was 9 weeks. For me, it’s an opportunity to get out of the house for a bit and to watch her interact with the music and other babies. I used to take my LB to the same class when he was a baby and he loved it!
I'm thinking of starting baby massage at 3.5 months. Will probably try a sensory class around that time too. I feel like I'd like him to be a little more alert for classes so he isn't immediately overwhelmed but you know your baby and how they cope!
We started a 4 week baby massage course when my little boy was 5 weeks old, and then baby sensory when he was 10 weeks old and he loves it! The baby sensory we go to is called glow tots and there are different groups for different ages, his group starts from 8 weeks (blissful babies) so I’d say go for it! They include lots of tummy time/ side lying and development activities so I’d say it’s really worth it! X
@Emmo is swimming class free too?
We started a mum and baby group at 8 weeks old, and baby massage at 10 weeks xx
We go to baby massage on a Monday, baby class on a Thursday morning and swimming with water babies on a Thursday late afternoon / early evening. He is 9 weeks. We will be starting baby sensory when we finish baby massage.
Thank you everyone - this is all so helpful ☺️🤍
We go to baby sensory (a free one at the family hub, not a paid one) where she just looks at lights and shiny things. And swimming
