Definitely sugary drinks! I had a long labour, and I don't think I wanted to eat anything, even the jelly babies that I'd packed. However, also remember you might want snacks for afterwards if you end up staying in, so pack some good snacks for then.
Energy gels?
I’m not sure if it’s obvious or not but I took my own pillow with me, hospital ones are really flat and the sheets are quite crisp so having my own pillow that smelt of home was a massive comfort! I’m here for the snacks answers though because I hadn’t even thought of snacks 😂
A small fan! It’s so warm in the hospital.
Lip balm!! Been told this by everyone, i never would have thought it but your lips apparently get very dry while in labour especially if you use gas and air
Snack wise, I've packed X4 lucosade sports, x4 Yazoo cartons (lol), sugary things like choc granola bars/choc digestives, and salty things like salted crisps etc. I've also got these 'food substitute' shakes (never had them before lol) but I can't eat when I'm in pain, I thought they're very calorific and might give me some energy when I need it! First time mum, but hope this helps ☺️
