Short cervix

I gave birth at 26 weeks as my cervix dilated at 22 weeks the progesterone didn’t seem to have done much for me and a stitch was not done due to shortened cervix. How can I ensure next time I don’t have the same issue ?

How short was your cervix when they did the scans?

Preventative stitch which they will place between 12-14 weeks and progesterone from this stage too

@Ava I actually don’t want the stitch as the reason I went into early labour was after throwing up and pushing down below. Had the stitch been placed it would have ripped my cervix and probably damaged it .

Have you researched this? The stitch is extremely strong and it takes A LOT for it to break like that. Do you have Facebook? Join a group called pregnant with cerclage, a lot of women share their stories and their experiences with the stitch it’s definitely worth looking into

I had the stitch and it’s very strong, I throw up a lot with my son plus I was extremely constipated and it held up very well. Better safe than sorry!

I second @Ava

@Abby same here
