I had an elective section at 38+1 due to breech. It was the most amazing experience ever, so smooth, well coordinated, no stress. The first 24 hours are hard, sitting up etc, but after that i was on paracetamol only and getting about slowly. I did have gas pain in my shoulder after which was worse than the section pain itself! but that eased after 2 days. Now 15 weeks PP, no issues would recommend to anyone! The only annoying part is waiting as i was second in the queue and the first lady lost a lot of blood so got there at 7am didn’t go down til 1 so was starving but other than that. best thing ever, good luck!! 🤍🤍

C-section mom right here! My advice is take it as slow as possible when you get home, don’t try do too much too fast, I had a couple days of wanting to do everything and it hurts like hell! Also the midwifes and nurses in the hospital will literally help you with anything and everything so don’t feel bad about needing them for the littlest of things. I would highly recommend electrolytes for a few weeks after to, definitely helps with the energy, best of luck momma 😊

I had a fantastic c section experience. I was sooooooo scared and afterwards realised there was NOTHING to be scared of. Natural birth is wayyyyyyy more stressful. My nurses and other staff were amazing. Everything about it was. The worst was the pain afterwards which you manage yourself with pain killers. You'll be 100% fine. Just be excited. Not scared!!!

I ended up having a pretty good experience, couldn’t fault the hospital staff and the care I received but the recovery was rough going for me personally, but I think my pain threshold is low too. The best advice I can give is absolutely stay on top of your pain medication when you’re home, set a timer! Even if you feel ‘ok’ because suddenly it can get horrible real quick! Also take your lactulose!!! I didn’t at first and wow, I wish I had as that first PP 💩 after all the meds is rough going! Stock up on comfy knickers, pads and pjs, you’ll live in them for the first few weeks! At the hospital, if you are feeling anxious let your midwife know, mine was so so lovely and helped eased my anxiety and distracted me throughout the cannula/spinal etc whilst in theatre as my other half couldn’t come in until after and she let me know what was happening throughout the section which helped me stay calm e.g waters broken, legs out (my little boy was breech hence the section!) good luck mumma! 💙🩷

Congratulations in advance. Mine was planned and was absolutely amazing. If you look on the NHS website, somewhere in the c section area, there is a video on how to get out of bed. Study it, and you'll be fine. I'd recommend c sections to everyone 👍

Take a book or whatever you need to keep you occupied pre surgery - the surgery itself was so fast it was incredible, but the waiting around before hand on limited fluids subject to any emergencies ahead of you. My nerves kicked in on the table and I came over warm/sick but that soon passed and they carried on - she was still out in 6 mins! Post surgery - the gas 😱😱 I was convinced I needed a poo before I could get out of bed. I didnt 😂but yep absolutely take your lactulose! Peppermint water also really good. I was also convinced I wouldn't be able to walk for days, but it was incredible how my body adapted each day. Now two weeks post op and feeling really good!

I had an emergency c section after my labour wasn’t progressing. It was so calm and peaceful delivering my little one. I was worried on the way into theatre but honestly it was such a good experience! From going in, to meeting baby it was about 10/15 minutes. My partner was there the whole time too. I won’t lie I didn’t react very well to some of the drugs and it did make me vomit quite a bit once I’d got back to the maternity ward. However, the rest of my recovery was great. I was up and about the next day walking around the ward. I did make sure not to push myself as it was very tender but if you keep on top of taking your pain meds at the right time, it’ll be fine! If I do have another baby I will defo go for an elective c section. Good luck mama 😊

I had a planned c-section at 39+1 as it was the safest option due to having a stroke last year. I found it didn’t really feel real until the morning of and then I was a little nervous. It was honestly a really lovely experience, really calm and smooth. Everyone at the hospital was amazing and so lovely. I found walking around quite sore and sitting up etc for the first 1-2 weeks so just take it easy and give yourself time to heal. I was out and about within 3 days but just went for some slow gentle small walks to begin with and I’ve been building it up slowly each day!

I had an emergency c section recovery for me was very difficult but everyone is different just take it easy and don’t over do it all the best you got this x
