i’m so sorry for your loss! i had the stitch put in in january i was around 17 weeks after my 21 week loss last july, the only thing i found uncomfortable was sitting/lying in 1 position until the spinal block wore off, other than that i had no pain afterwards but still took paracetamol just incase! if they offer gas and air for the removal though take it! i thought id be fine and regretted it i got it removed at 37 weeks had the sweep around 37+3 but ended up being induced 38+2 as i had elevated LFTs. wishing you all the best x
So sorry for your loss. I went through something very similar and I had a stitch at 16 weeks in my recent pregnancy which worked really well. I had it put in as a precaution rather than waiting to see if cervix shortened. But I had it out at 36 weeks pregnant. Baby girl was born by force at 38+4 due to me having issues with high BP :)
Thank you everyone! I had the stitch put in and the consultant said the procedure went well and my cervix was actually shorter than what the ultrasound had showed the day before so got it in at the right time otherwise I would have gone into pre term labour again!🤦🏼♀️Just hoping this is the reason it happened last time and the stitch will hold until at least 36 weeks x
I had a cervical stitch with our little girl, it was a tad uncomfortable for afew days after but not painful. Some spotting but nothing major. Procedure was quick then had to wait for the spinal to wear off, have catheter removed and go to the loo and was allowed home same day. I can't answer the last part as we lost our little girl at 25+2 but totally unrelated to the stitch or incompetence. My cervix was shorter at around 20mm when I had mine placed at approx 18 weeks. Very sorry for the loss of your baby ❤️
