Here's my review of the classes I went to: Baby massage - really great from a young age (8 weeks) as even though my baby mainly slept 😅 it's teaching you techniques to use outside of the class. The teacher was great, got us all talking to each other. It was 8 mums so not too big. A hot drink & biscuit was included. Sing & sign: I went from when my baby was 5 months old. Really loved this class & took it for about 5 months. Again you get taught stuff to use outside of class. Met some lovely mums & met up with them outside of the course. Baby sensory: Did this from 8 weeks. Some whole term, others just one off sessions. There never seemed to be a consistent group of mums at the classes so no real bonds created. I definitely think up until at least 4 months I wasn't really sure my little boy was really getting anything out of it. Once he was more active he loved it. Baby swim: Great one for the dads to do. Did this from 8 weeks & still going now (13 months).
One more: Post natal pilates: more for me and wish I'd done it earlier when baby was more sleepy and less mobile. He was rolling when I did it so I couldn't get anything done as i kept having to go get him 😅
So I went to baby massage classes and a mother and toddler group qhen baby was 4 months. Would have gone when she was younger but we moved when she was 3 months so looked for different things to do and those are what I found. The first time I went it was hard because I was shy, there weren't a lot of people at the mother and baby group - mainly grandparents with grandchildren and only a couple of parents. Baby massage was better. However I stuck with the mother and toddler group and kept going, baby is almost 2 years old now. We both love it. More parents come now and I have 3 very close mum friends now that didn't go when I first went. I look forward to going each week and try not to miss it. They can be hit and miss so if one doesn't work for you and your baby definitely don't be discourage and try others that are on in your area too! X
