I heard there was a very small chance after c section that you could rupture why did they say that to you?! I’m scared too!!! When are you guys due?!
@Emily I'm not due until 2nd April. Just my consultant made me feel like I should have a c cection and not even try but he did suggest vbac but then said I could rupture
@Jessica its so scary isn't it. But I don't want surgery again
@Emily i’m due feb
exactly! i’m scared to have a csection again too! it’s so hard with the numbers
@Jessica it really is. He was like to me you've got until 36th week to make my decision but the more I think about it the more it scares me because I really don't wanna die
That’s so scary i was told there is less than 1% chance of rupture for people that have had a c section I hope that makes you feel better i definitely recommend getting g a doula she has helped me so much in feeling confident for a vbac! I’m due march 3rd!! I was told for the best chances to labor at home as long as possible because once your in the hospital if you’re laboring too long and contracting too long they will probably just do a c section and droning raspberry leaf tea starting like now lowers your chances too of c section!!
@Emily thank you I guess it does kinda. I don't want to be induced either because that's my fear I won't be ready and I'll end up having an emergency one again. How do you get a doula? When should you start with the raspberry leaf? Anything else I could do in the mean time which could help my body get ready? X
they’ve just told me to go unless anything is wrong with baby. consultant didn’t seem bothered really. i agree i don’t want to be induced either as that’s what caused my last c-section
Of course! And I know I m scared too! In the end you just have to give trust to your body and know that this is what our body’s are meant to do! And doulas are all over you can find them on Instagram or facebook I’m sure there’s a website even! I found mine through my mom she has known her for a while and so we felt comfortable with her! But I’ve seen so many accounts on insta really! Start the raspberry leaf tea now!! My doula also gave me a list of other teas that benefit the process I’ll paste them at the end!! But also she recommended taking prenatal class and workout out regularly and finding a yoga class or something on YouTube to help stay limber and she also put me on NO SUGAR sugar feeds off of anything nutritional you eat and basically makes it so your body doesn’t absorb all that good stuff so that’s what I’m doing so far plus trying to drink as much of these teas as I can! Red raspberry leaf Alfalfa Nettles Oat straw Peppermint Fennel seed Borage
Try to think of the opposite.. you have a 99.5% chance that you won’t rupture, which is a pretty unlikely event. X
@Jessica I'm the same
@Emily thank you so much and fingers crossed for you x
Thank you and you too! We got this!!!🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼✨✨✨

I have a friend who went for a second c-section amd her uteran rupture during a secheduled c-section. There is risk in both. Granted its even smaller for a c-section but possible.
@Shelley oh god, I guess the way to look at it is everything in life is a risk of death. Crossing the road you can get killed. I guess we just have to get on with it and hope for the best
@Shelley is your friend and baby ok?
@Maria Yes! They were okay 💙🙏🏻. Her baby is now 6!
@Shelley that’s great to hear! ❤️
There is risk of uterine rupture for any birth (first time, c-sections, vbacs). It’s actually only marginally increased for vbacs and that’s for both types of birth. The studies they have done are really poor and focus on where issues have occurred that’s how you get the 1-2 in a 100 stat but actually in reality they think it’s much higher than that. I listened to this podcast with midwives and found the research discussed interesting and has really helped reinforce my thoughts on wanting a vbac. Risks are specific to the individual too but vbac alone doesn’t increase your risk that much! https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/midwife-pip-podcast/id1524209425?i=1000597190678
Chemical induction increases the chance of uterine rupture by 4-5 times (UK NHS data), so spontaneous labour or Foley catheter induction lesson the (already low) chances. Opting for continual fetal monitoring means any rupture would be picked up at the earliest possible point. Some hospitals (uk anyway) can offer mobile continual fetal monitoring
same here :/ i got told i have a 1 in 200 change and im scared
