@Sophie sorry to hear that! How can I know if I tear? I didn’t ask and nobody tell me anything and not being funny but I can’t tell not even by looking at it 🤡
I had an induced labour and then forceps - stitches recovered in around 2 weeks - was with my husband after around 6/7 weeks post partum and was absolutely fine x
Just work with your body and what makes you comfortable
My tear was totally seperate to the episiotomy so i had 2 lots of stitches so i could tell the difference, it should be on your notes if you have access to them x
@Sabah I still have some pain down there like a pressure, I don’t know how to describe it. Anyone else?
I'm 11 weeks pp, after 2nd degree tear and 3 lots of stitches. We have been doing it again about the last two weeks. I was terrified but it's all been fine abd nice to have that intimacy back after the whole pregnancy of it being a no no. X
Yes I had that too - sit in a lavender oil bath twice a day it helps recovery a lot - and eat lots and lots of nuts for strength - also pelvic floor exercises
I had an episiotomy and ventouse delivery, still feel pressure on my scar but have had sex a few times in the last couple of weeks - take it so slowly and expect some discomfort, but it does get easier!
Yeah mine has only just started to ease this last week, i had infected stitches and also have had a uterus infection which im on antibiotics for now, i have also been trying to do pelvic floor exercises, and trying to go on longer walks, so that might be helping too x
Message me if you wanna talk about your birth or recovery because i have also struggled to heal x
@Sabah which lavender oil do you recommend? Are the pelvic floor exercises the same they recommend when your’re pregnant?
I’m 9 weeks post partum and had a forceps delivery with episiotomy and only started and was so so nervous and scared, took it very slowly and was uncomfortable but I’ve heard it gets so much easier! I was constantly worried I was going to tear open my stitches but my doctor reassured me to say that the stitching is so clever and heal within a few week after birth! Just make sure you feel comfortable to do so and take your time xx
I’m 12 weeks pp, had episiotomy, ventouse, and 2nd degree tears and we did it when I was 6 weeks pp, there was still scar tissue but it didn’t hurt at all so I felt ready to and my episiotomy was fully healed. it was definitely uncomfortable at first.. inside it was almost like achy? Took it slow and then after a few mins it was fine, I was definitely scared too. Make sure it’s ready and don’t force it if it’s not easy as you don’t want to risk hurting yourself xx I have this achy almost pain from my urethra sometimes randomly or if I need the toilet badly, thinking it’s something to do with the catheter I had multiple times perhaps, anyone else have this? x
@Hannah I’ve the exact same feeling in my urethea, I had to have the catheter taking out then they put it back in so I had the same thought because it’s a very uncomfortable feeling just like when they took the catheter out.. hopefully it goes soon it’s like an achey feel, my mum told me to keep up with pelvic floor exercises and not to do it when you pee as can cause infections x

@Hannah yes I have the urethral achiness not sure what it’s about I get it at the end of a wee as the pelvic floor relaxes, feels like it’s bruised. I’m 9 weeks post.
Miaroma lavender oil from Holland and barret - 20 drops in the bath and mix with any other oil - I did 10 drops of olive oil And Yh they’re the same but if you type post partum pelvic floor exercises in YouTube there’s loads of videos
I spoke to the GP about the urethral ache and it definitely is from the catheter, it will have bruised you. It was that that was giving me grief more so than the stitches which I had checked numerous times and told all was healing well. It took us 10 weeks but felt fine once I was actually in the right mood and not worrying about things down there so much!
Im 12 weeks this week and still havent, after forceps, episiotomy, second degree tear and manual placenta removal, starting to feel like im more ready but scared ngl x
