@Chloe I was going to do the pumping , dates & raspberry leaf tea, does that sound risky?
I’m not an expert (just had a breech baby myself!). I personally did the tea and couldn’t stomach the dates. I didn’t pump but think it’s a fairly natural way of trying to get things moving? I’ve known people to walk along the edge of a pavement where you have one foot on the road and one on the path if that makes sense, meant to help baby move down. I think it’s things like sweeps, and the kind of induction you’d get in hospital that are not recommended. Are you planning for a c section or vaginal delivery?
@Chloe if she is still breeched I will have a c-section ! The plan has been give birth at birth center .
if you are happy to have a go at a breech vaginal delivery things like colostrum harvesting anything natural. if you are wanting to go into labour and have an emergency c-section then i would not recommend! breech deliveries are known to be quick so you could labour too quickly to get your c-section. i would push for your c-section date because usually they will schedule it after 39 weeks which youre almost there!
@ellie 🤍 you don’t think doing any of the things will encourage baby to turn?
yeah getting/encouraging baby to turn is fine! i did moxibustion and saw an osteopath which really helped my ECV be successful. i also used my birthing ball and put my hips up on it so i was upside down
@ellie 🤍 I was told some babies will turn right as labor begins 😅 that’s sorta what I was betting on 🫤 I’m so tired of being pregnant!
I had a breeched baby and I was very disappointed, scared, and hopeless. I spent 8 months preparing for a natural birth, read books, watch videos, consult midwives. But the baby never turned. However, having the scheduled c-section was the best decision! It went great, almost painless, I was out of the hospital in 24 hours, which I regret, I wish I stayed the 3 days. Anyway, if the baby doesn’t turn, c-section can be a wonderful experience.
@Carolina I really appreciate hearing this !
Sorry you’re having a hard time :( it’s against guidance to have any sort of medical induction (sweep etc) but there’s nothing wrong with trying the usual tricks to get baby engaged and ready to be born. I know it’s impossible but try to keep as calm and relaxed as you can, because it really does help to get things moving! Good luck
