I have cholestasis so I don’t have a choice… if I did I wouldn’t be induced for sure
I wanted to wait but I have gestational hypertension and gestational diabetes that was out of control so we induced because all my numbers and labs were bad
If they’re getting induced I’m guessing it’s because dr see it fit that way!?
I’m getting induced at 37 weeks because I had preeclampsia my last pregnancy so this is precautionary but drs will only induce if medically necessary.
I think those of us that can wait it out don't really have a bunch to post about, at least personally haha. If I had to be induced I would be posting about it too :)
Bro my baby *is* ready - he's cranky there's not space. I'm cranky there's not space. He's head down and healthy and aside from putting on another pound (which he can absolutely do outside of my body as well), there's not much benefit to him being in me anymore. I wouldn't induce electively if offered because my personal goal is to minimize my chances of a C-section but if my doc offered me a decent reason to.... I'd be there.
too risky for me for long term
Everyone has their reasons I’m sure , doctor wants to induce me because this is my 2VBAC2 - 2nd vaginal birth after 2 c sections. My first vaginal birth was successful but we still want to be cautious.
Some of us have a medical reason and need to have inductions as it is best for baby. I am on blood thinners and need to stop them a certain amount of time before having baby so my blood will be able to clot. What ever happened to not judging why people get one?
I'm not seeing a lot about elective inductions yet, just medical ones. Personally, they've found fluid in my kidneys and blood tests show that there could be an infection that they can't pinpoint yet. I'm being monitored to make sure that I don't develop something more serious. I've also had hyper-emesis during the WHOLE pregnancy. My plan is still to wait as long as I can, maybe even long enough for him to come on his own, especially because I want him to have his best chances at eating well. But I know while not ideal, there may be a point where it's more safe for him to be on the outside of my body and there's technology now that can help address the other concerns I have if he were born early. It wouldn't be my ideal, but at the end of the day my only true ideal is with him alive and healthy and for me to be able to take care of him. Whether that is from the inside or outside. Beyond that, I don't plan on going past 41 weeks because evidence does show that serious complications increase after that point.
Cont. Not ALL women's bodies actually go into labor when they're supposed to for a variety of reasons. Baby doesn't have a magical button they push when they're finally ready to go. Just like some women's bodies may go into labor early, before the baby is "fully cooked", some might not go into labor even when the baby is. 🤷🏼♀️
Hoping for natural but scheduled induction 11/1 because I have diabetes. Doctors told me I should…
I am 36 weeks and 4 days pregnant and my baby is weighing 8lbs 10oz measuring at 41 weeks 😭🥹
I’ve been blessed to not have any health problems during my pregnancy. So I’m willing to wait as long as possible, if baby and I aren’t at risk of course. Prayers to the mamas who has medical issues! I’m glad I’m able to wait though because I’ve learned in my classes that just because you’re uncomfortable doesn’t necessarily mean they’re ready. SOMETIMES induction can cause delay in breastfeeding and other things. But most women aren’t breastfeeding nowadays. And the food these days cause a lot of issues we are having and bigger babies.

I induced with my first because he was an IVF pregnancy and there’s a risk of the placenta failing sooner. I was on weekly monitoring and felt like we were waiting for something to go wrong. I wanted him out while we were both healthy. He was born at 39+2 I’m have a c-section at 37 weeks this time due to medical diagnosis. This pregnancy hasn’t been as smooth as the first, so for both our health, baby is coming early.
Yes!! It honestly makes me aggravated that everyone wants to get inductions early. I literally just had my baby 4 days ago because I was diagnosed with preeclampsia(so I didn’t have a choice). And it’s hard having a NICU baby with possible long term health issues. I feel like people are ungrateful to go to their full term without any health issues.
If the dr thinks inducing is the best option then obviously they think baby is ready as well
I had preeclampsia with my first baby with my second I’m getting high blood pressure again so they trying to induce me just to be safe also because he’s growing very slow only weights 4 pounds
