Stubborn Child

My daughter is 2 almost 3 and we can’t get her to go on the toilet. She understands what it is in the beginning she went a couple times. She’s very interested in it, she will ask to sit on the potty, flush the toilet and wash her hands but won’t actually go when she’s on it on it. A minute after I put her pull up back on she goes potty while laughing because she thinks it’s funny! This has been going for months, I’ve tried bribing, extending the time she sits on the potty for, she sings a potty song. Nothing has worked, does anyone have advice?

Do you have a little potty for her?

@Celeste yes, she has a little potty and a step one that goes over the regular toilet.

👋☺ Hi @Sam 😊👍 Ditch the pull-ups completely . If we give in and put a child in a diaper or pull-up when they ask for one, its confusing to a toddler-in-training. Its basically like saying: "Here ya go sweetie: poop in this!" "You dont need to go in the potty. The potty is optional. "I'm okay with you peeing & pooping in your clothing, in the kitchen, the play room, wherever you're standing. Dont worry about going in the potty" This potty training stuff is HARD! Especially the poo part. Hang in there! I think I can offer some helpful advice! I've been potty training toddlers for over 39+ years. I'm Miss Jen Professional Potty Training Coach!
