Should I be concerned?

My baby still can’t say ‘mama’ or ‘dada’ and also doesn’t clap or wave… should I be worried? She’s 10 months old today

I wouldn’t worry yet as first words should be said by 12 months. You will also have a HV visit in the next few months so can mention it there if still concerned. Babies learn at their own pace, but if you’re allowing a lot of screen time (not saying you are) but minimise it if so, as can cause verbal delays. Also talk to her and say those words often showing her who is who etc, flash cards are good too with pictures and words xx

my baby is 10 months tomorrow and still doesn’t do any of these… he instead very close to walking..

my daughter can only say mama but not on command and only when she’s whining or crying and she doesn’t even attempt to say dada🤣she’s only very recently just learnt to clap and wave. She will do it in her own time! Do you have any mum friends with babies similar ages to your daughter? my daughter was no we’re near crawling then i hung out with one of my friends who’s baby is a few months older and was crawling and the next day she just did it, so i’m pretty sure her seeing other babies do it helped her x

My baby is the opposite she can say dada, clap and wave but still isnt crawling or pulling up etc- just shows how different they all are!

I wouldn’t worry. My baby mumbles “dadada” constantly but every baby is different. Some babies take their time, doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with them 🥰

My son is nearly 11 months and doesn't do any of these either. The health visitor at his development check never asked about them, only if he was making sounds . I hadn't even thought about it . I think they've still got time yet.
