Bringing on labour

So I’ve been told my cervix is soft and coming forwards but the contractions which were quite strong yesterday seem to have stopped…. Bouncing on my ball today to try get things started again but wondered if anyone had any remedies that have worked for them… thanks so much

I don't, mine were 2 and 3 weeks late lol but fingers crossed yours will start up again! It's good your cervix is soft. Exciting times! I did try and walk a lot if possible but again I'm probably the worse person for advice seeing how late I was.

Eat 3 medjoul dates or 6 smaller dates a day, deep squats, squats whilst swaying back and forth/circular motions. Personally for me, when these exercising would bring on a contraction or some pressure, I'd keep doing them until things slow down before I tried something else. A hike/long walk/side steps, spring cleaning etc through the day and good night's sleep at night really got things going for me!

How far along are you? I've been dilated for a couple of weeks and had to slow things down with rest but it can be absolutely normal for early labour to be on/off for a few weeks - usually means for a swift labour when the real deal kicks in! (Hopefully!). I'm currently 35+2. Just had a scan and baby is head down and engaged 2/5

Deep squats swaying. Sex!

For me it was a combination of a big walk, accupressure massage and nipple stimulation. After the massage (performed by midwives) they told me to do some nipple stimulation which i did about two hours after they had left. My waters went there and then and baby was horn six hours later!!

@Hafs I’m 37 and a half weeks! Oh wow hopefully that’s the case for me haha

@Lesley wow that’s incredible! I need to get an acupuncture massage, did maternity physio or just your nhs midwife team at the hospital do it? I tried nipple stimulation last night (I actually asked my hubby to do it) but we didn’t know what we were doing and nothing came of it haha

@Be where are you based!? Mine was two midwives who set it up locally but i’m sure there are loads of places that do it The advice given to me for nipple stimulation was to do whatever gives you that tingly feeling - there’s loads of research behind it but you’ve got to get the oxytocin hit from it

@Lesley ah amazing thank you I’m based in Preston

Ah i’m cheshire so my midwife is probably too far! Do a google though i think it’s becoming a more popular career so should be some massages near you xx
