NHS dentist charge for no show

Hi can a dentist charge for no show. We just moved to a new place. We were exhausted and forgot the appointment. And now they are charging 30 pounds and I think its unfair

Unfortunately it will be in their terms and conditions when you book.

Absolutely, since being young, I've always known NHS dentists to charge £15 for your first no-show, and you can't book another appointment until you've paid the fee.

@Charlotte @Jayde that's awful .. unfortunately I didn't knew that. It once happened with my previous dentist but they didn't charge me just said that from next time to let them know 24hrs before

I think all NHS practices should charge for missed appointments, GP, and dentist. There are something like 30% of GP appointments made and missed every week. That's 30% of appointments someone else hasn't got to have. It would raise a lot of money the NHS desperately needs, and people wouldn't miss appointments.

I think it’s fair enough though. They’re still a business at the end of the day and the slot could have been filled. I’d hold on tight to that NHS dentist. They’re hard to get into.

@Jayde @Charlotte yes I think its fair .. just that I was not aware and will keep in mind always.
