My son was the same. I had book about potty training, and i changed all “wees” thing for “poo” when i was reading him that book. Also in our case, helped promise him new toy - he picked up what he wanted, and after he used toilet he got the toy. I told him, that toy is for big boy who is making poo to the potty/toilet and if he wants to use a nappy again, toy is going away as he be ready again to use the toilet. At some point it works.
We attempted the toy thing and when he got the toy he has never done it since 😂 we are trying the same this time round but he's having none of it 🤣
My doctor said boys can take longer to figure out their poos. But she also suggested resistance from doing #2 can be a sign of constipation. She suggested we do miralax for a few days and put him on the toliet about 20 minutes after. Worked fantastic. After using miralax for about 4 days he got the picture and now only goes on the toliet.
Yes my son was scared to go potty for a poo he would wait to do it at night in his nappy! I started off making him sit down and relax for his wees feet on a stool in the hope that he would just go, eventually he Made himself constipated so I had to give him a laxative and he went unexpectedly by accident whilst doing a wee and bingo fear gone !!! We waved and flushed it away like a game, I think they just do it when they are ready 🤷♀️
Still working on the poos with my little boy.. have heard boys take a fair bit longer generally with getting the poos on the toilet/ potty
Yep our little boy is the same, fully trained for wees but will just not entertain poos at all. He waits until he has his nappy on for bedtime and does it then, we've tried everything we can think of to encourage/bribe him and he's having none of it. Think we're going to have to stop bringing it up for a while and try again at some point x
