Thank you so much I am just scared of the cervical checks lol
@Stephenie if they do the pill do you have to stay at the hospital?
I've been induced twice. The first time I don't think it's was dilated but they gave me medicine to start dilation before the pitocin. It went smoothly. I got an epidural an hour after the pitocin was started. After 7 hours, baby was here! This most recent induction was a bit harder. I got the pill again to dilated my cervix, I was already 2 cm, by 4cm they started my pitocin. I sat a few hours until the contractions got a little tough then got an epidural, it was smooth after that but about 20 minutes before I actually gave birth they had raised my pitocin again and those last 20 minutes were honestly the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. Felt like the epidural wasn't working. I was 9 and half but baby was fully engaged. I had doctors telling me to hold him in and they were putting their hands in my vagina to stop him from coming (I have a history of hemorrhage) but I couldn't stop my body and he out in 2 pushes. Don't let them get to 10 with pitocin LOL. Stay at 6 or 8 as long as you can.
Thank you how many cervical checks did they have to do on you?
@Kourtney like 4. They try not to do them too much to prevent infections and such. I labored a total of 13 ish hours.
This may be me too, and I have my concerns and worries, but I did my research and I should be OK if I have to go through it like this
Depends how dialated you are... from what I understand if you are 3cm or less you will start off with either a pill or the fully balloon (your choice I believe). Once you are 4cm or further you will do pitocine via IV. I have been induced twice and had grwat experiences both times. Any other specific questions about it?
