Help

I know I’ve probably caused myself these problems… I’m EBF and we cosleep. At first it really was working for us, but I can’t deal with it all anymore. Literally all of our naps are contact naps. I put baby to sleep in bed and then I need to be in bed from then on out. Unless someone can take my place and provide some form of contact. I’m used as a dummy once baby is asleep who will end up awake as soon as i unlatch or wake up as soon as i try to lay him down. I don’t believe in CIO but I’m really bloody close. Feel like I’m going mad What do I do???

I'm really sorry that you're going through this! I don't have a sure answer but it's always good to break habits earlier than later. At this age I think baby may need about 3 days of consistency to learn a new habit/drop an old one. So let's say you want to put baby down for a nap instead of contact napping, they may wake up since they're not used to being on their own. Then you resettle, and put them back down. Rinse and repeat. It may be an exhausting few days, but this way you can still be there for them without having to resort to CIO. Eventually they will learn that this is gonna be the new norm and they'll just deal with it. I hope this helps at all, sending love!
