No you should ring up as soon as waters break, so they can do a check on you, also pop a pad on
If you tell them your waters have broken you are "on the clock" to be induced at 24 hours, or brought in for IV antibiotics. the infection risk doesn't actually increase until 72 hours, but look up the symptoms you need to look out for , just incase. Sounds like you've started contracting so are on your way to meeting baby. Our trust suggest calling in when contractions are 3 in 10 minutes, lasing for 1 minute each, or if you feel you need pain relief, or just if you're concerned for any reason 🥰
You call whenever you want. Depends on your birth plan. If my waters break I am not calling anywhere as long as I feel well and baby moves as always as I plan to labour at home 90% of time and go to hospital only to deliver so in no rush at all. If you planning on IV pain relief or epidural then yes you can call and they will advise you to come within 24hrs and then advise induction if not active labour (I am not getting induction hence why I would not call this early) so again depends on how you feeling and what's your birth plan X
Thank you all 💕 hopefully baby boy will make his appearance soon xx
@Amber good luck 😊 x
@Gabi Second this. Stay at home as long as possible amongst home comforts until you are ready to almost push 🤣 x
@Jenna So my waters broke as well.. 😵💫😵💫😑 Dunno why do I have to be amongst the 10 unlucky 10%.. I had a suspicion that the waters been leaking ever since losing my mucus plug on Mon night.. This morning it was larger trickle than until now. So went to get checked and it was positive. The talk about hormone drip and c section came very quick! But I considered the risks and benefits, realized I was stressed AF, red in face, upset so no way induction would work at this stage. So had CTG, bloods taken and went home ❤️😬😬😬
@Alicia thank you x
@Gabi Aw I hope things start to progress soon for you Gabi. Hope it all goes to plan and you get the labour you want in saying that always go in with an open mind too xx
@Jenna Thank you. I pray. They just called me to say my blood count was all good and just advised to come tomorrow morning, if not for induction then to have a blood pressure checked, puls, urine and CTG for baby. At least not too pushy.
@Amber How are things? 🫶🏽
@Gabi hope everything goes well for you, try and get as much rest as you can xx
@Gabi they confirmed my waters did go and I’m going back in at 11pm tonight and seeing how much I have progressed and depending I may need to get induced but hopefully I’ll get to meet baby boy soon xx
Hope all goes well for you! Both times my waters have gone. Both times I wanted to wait 24 hours before any intervention and I progressed naturally and had vaginal births. The only advice I can give is have a sleep for a few hours to get your energy up and then do some relaxation and breathing if you’re into hypnobirthing like me! Also stay active, have a walk but nothing strenuous and do some bouncing on the ball. Main thing is to remain calm and relaxed if you can to try and bring your baby down and into the right position! Exciting times ahead for you xx
