So if they give you option of the foley balloon and th rods in the cervix to dilate choose the rods it’s faster and less painful. I’m 9 days pp and have had minimal bleeding but the hospital should provide pads, and most of the stuff that’s in a Frida kit. I would get extra diapers/ pads for yourself and snacks that you like me and my husband did a dollar tree run for snacks. The whole process and birth was less than 24 hours in total. Because we tried to do medicine first to start to open my cervix but for me it just didn’t work.

@Rebecca what are the rods. I’m in induction right now and the bulb is next in a few hours

@Brooke they are cervix rods they put into dilate and help open the cervix

I did not like the postpartum underwear the hospital had. I would definitely bring my own. I had a blanket to stay comfy. Long phone charger. Applesauce packets and other snacks. I also had my own labor and delivery gown. I also bought extra towels for the shower and shower shoes. Lavender essential oil to relax and peppermint oil to smell when you feel nauseous. I had a 3 day induction and ended up needing a c-section (I had pre-eclampsia and baby didn’t tolerate the pitocin at the end well). I was having contractions and they wouldn’t give me other pain meds but the epidural. Felt like I got it too soon as we failed to progress (stopped dilating at 6 cm and bb heart rate got up near 200 bpm; I came in at no dilation). Hope this helps!

I was induced Wednesday morning, I was already a 4, and my labor took a while, we're being discharged now! 🥳🖤 Make sure you ask them for the peanut ball, and if they forget just be adamant about it, that thing helps open up the hips fast!! Good luck mama, you got this!!

My induction was boring as hell it was like 14 hours from start to delivery. Take a board game, cards book tablet something to occupie yourself. Ask to walk i literally would go outside the hospital for walks, use the birthing ball, snacks ect.

Boppy pillow for sure! My arms even felt exhausted afterwards and it helped with holding/positioning for nursing after. A long charger, chapstick, and I took my own insulated cup. I was downing water so it helped that I had it full and the cup they gave me. 😅 Whole process was about 9 hours after being checked in to delivering but I ended up being dilated to almost a 5 when we got there.
