Kids saying things they don’t mean

How do y’all navigate your kids saying things they want but don’t really want? Example: my 3 year old always says he’s hungry and wants to open the fridge. He opens the fridge and picks out a yogurt. I open the yogurt and he doesn’t eat the yogurt. I don’t want to deny him food or say “mmm… i don’t believe you” so I don’t really know what to do but I can’t do this whole wasting food thing

You offer it again in a few minutes and then you move from there lol it’s gonna keep happening

Recover things and give it later 🤷🏼‍♀️

"Ok, I'll put this back in the fridge for next time." and slowly put it back in the fridge. 7/10 times they will run back and grab it from you. For the other 3, just put it back and offer it at the next snack time. If they don't eat it by the end of the day, it's yours. 😀

I would just save the snack for later that day or the next day 🤷‍♀️

I would put it back in the fridge.

Maybe try offering a drink instead of snack.. my son use to do this and in all honesty was calling it hungry but really he was just thirsty. Otherwise I agree with other comments of offer said opened snack later.
