@Charley okay thank you ❤️❤️xx
Yeah, I got delayed cord clamping for a few minutes with immediate skin to skin. They cut the placenta loose to remove it and dad went over to the checking station to cut baby’s cord shorter whilst she was checked on. Scrubbed down a bit and handed back to me for skin to skin until surgery was over. He can be involved, ask them to take some photos of you both too on your camera or phone xx
Dad got skin to skin once I got to my recovery room. They encouraged it whilst I was having something to eat
I had an emergency C-section as my baby was born prematurely (31+6), but due to having spinal anesthesia, my partner could be present and got the chance to cut the cord. Unfortunately because of the circumstances we couldn't have skin to skin but they showed me the baby and I gave him a peck on his cheek.
@Sarah thank you xx
@Pia thank you ❤️
My hospital asked my partner if he wanted to cut the cord. We also got skin to skin immediately as they said it was standard policy nowadays x
My partner cut cord and then held baby until I was on ward xx
@Skye okay thank you xx
@Katherine thank you ❤️
My mum cut the cord and I did skin to skin in my section.
Usually the surgeon makes a cut and leaves the cord long, then dad can trim it when baby is away from the operating table. Skin to skin with dad isn't usual in theatres as Dad is wearing scrubs. Can often be facilitated for skin to skin with you though if you wanted.
